Attendance at Common Ground’s Opening Night Party
The International Touring Exhibition premiered in North America on July 8 – running through August 13, 2010 – at the A&I Gallery in Los Angeles.
Over 1,000 artists from 40 countries submitted their digital art for consideration. The resulting curated collection contains work from 85 artists. A portion of all proceeds generated from the touring exhibition will benefit non-profit organizations including Global Giving and The Global Environmental Institute.
An eco-friendly opening reception, featuring sustainable framing, organic edibles, live music, and more, was held on Thursday, July 8th, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the A&I Gallery. |Art knows no boundries. So in the spirit of contributing to the celebration of our common heritage – planet Earth – The Eclipse Quartet performed a piece of music composed especially for Common Ground by classically trained film and TV composer and conductor David Williams.The piece is called “UnityTerra” and it’s composed specifically for an “electric” String Quartet in keeping with the Digital art and the environment theme.There was also foot-tapping and heart pounding beats by DJ and local underground artist L.C. aka Mr. NumberOnederful his protégé DJ DownToEarth, Matthew Treves.If you missed any of the music, the refreshment, the art or the people at Common Ground 2010, click here to see the photos.|
